i have les paul strings and a fender stratocaster guitar i want to know if it matters if the strings are a different brand then the guitar
No it does not matter one bit. strings are strings. If you get a different SIZE of strings, you may sometimes have to adjust your guitar. For example, if my guitar is used to having 13 gauge guitar strings, then I put on some 9 gauge guitar strings, I will probably have to make some adjustments to the neck or something! But no, it does not matter what brand of strings you use. I personally use D’Addario 10 gauge strings.
