Should I buy a relatively low end Gibson guitar or a high end Epiphone?

Should I buy a relatively low end Gibson guitar or a high end Epiphone? The Gibson is a SG Special with 3 pickups for seven hundred and the Epiphone is also $700 but a Les Paul Black Beauty with # pickups and gold hardware.

Both are good guitars. Have you considered going used? It is pretty easy to find a beautiful, like new, Gibson Studio LP for seven hudi.

Typically when people buy high end guitars new, they treat them like a work of art. When people buy low end guitars they treat them like dixi cups (disposable). If you were to buy a high end used guitar, and you keep it in excellent condition, you will be able to sell it the next day or many years from now for what you paid for it.
