You might be thinking about what guitar to get yourself. It can be a really difficult decision. And each guitar brand has unique specialties, so to speak. So here is a little list of popular guitar brands that you can check out.
A familiar brand that you will encounter is Yamaha. This brand is quite known for the good quality of their guitars. They have copies of American models of electric and acoustic guitars. Their classical guitars are mostly based on the Spanish models.
Ibanez is a favorite when it comes to rock guitar players. Their models are inspired by the Stratocaster and the Les Paul models. They have infused quality and affordability in their guitars. And this has made them really popular. You have to also admit that their modern and unique designs add to the flavor of the guitar.
When it comes to acoustic guitars, you can count on Alvarez. This brand is one of the more preferred brands by leading guitar players in the world. This is all thanks to the luthier Kazuo Yairi whose 60-year family tradition of manufacturing classical instruments is still being used by the company.
You might have already heard of Washburn as it is one of the most familiar brands in the guitar industry. They sell acoustic, folk and electric guitars. But are more preferred for the first two.
Another Japanese company that sells good guitars is Takamine. Their models are based on Martin guitars but are selling for very reasonable prices. You will find that this is a very good alternative for Martins.
Gibson is one of the longest running guitar manufacturers of all time. They originally manufactured the Les Paul and Flying V guitars. They have also started the import of less expensive guitars from Japan under the Epiphone brand name.
Guitar players often talk about the Fender brand. And they are the one of the most sought-after brands in the industry. They have come up with the famous Stratocaster and Telecaster for their electric guitars. They have the Jazzmaster for the bass guitar. And the 1950s models for these guitars can cost a lot as they are now collector’s items.
If you see guitars with pointy and angled headstocks with unique body designs, you can just guess that these are Jackson guitars. The attributes mentioned sure does make the brand stand out and gain identity. Their guitars are based on the Stratocaster. And their models are more often used by the rock guitar players.
Guild has been in the industry since the 1940s. This brand is more into the jazz guitar manufacturing. They make really dependable acoustic and folk instruments as well though they are not as celebrated as Martins or Gibsons.
One of the most celebrated brands is Martin. They make classical and acoustic-electric instruments. They are much identifiable for their Dreadnought guitars that have become the standard for acoustic guitar players.
If you want to go radical, you can opt to get an Ovation guitar. They were the proponents of fiber-glass bodies with bowl-shaped backs of guitars that retain the wooden soundboard and face. They also have very eccentric sound holes.
These are just some of the brands that are available in the market today. They best thing that you can do is to still stop by the local music store to get a more personal feel of the different guitar models and brands to see what works best with you.
