what brand of strings woud be the best sound would martin sounds crap if i pout them on? could anyone recommend best brand to use?

their are acoustic and electric strings you can use any ones you want but to get the best sound out of your instrument you want the right type, but you can use any brand you want.I like to keep my stings in a set for good sound quality.

Martin MSP4800 SP Acoustic Phosphor Light Acoustic Bass 4 String

Martin MSP4800 SP Acoustic Phosphor Light Acoustic Bass 4 String

$15.49

Like all Martin SP Studio/Performance Series strings, MSP4800 SP Acoustic Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Bass strings (4 string) are ideal live, in the studio, or wherever maximum string life is desired. The creation of these high-performance strings is a result of research done in cooperation with specialty steel producers. Due to the development of their ultra-high quality steel core, Martin SP guitar strings resist breakage better than average replacement strings. In addition, both the core wires and the plain strings are plated with a smooth, acoustic bronze finish. Though this golden bronze finish does enhance the beauty of your guitar, its purpose is much more functional—to prolong brightness, string life, and superior tonal quality to meet the high expectations of demanding musicians.

Martin SP 7050 Lifespan Custom Light 3-pack with Martin Leather Wallet

Martin SP 7050 Lifespan Custom Light 3-pack with Martin Leather Wallet

$39.99

This specially priced pack includes 3 sets of Martin custom light-gauge lifespan strings and 1 Martin leather wallet. Martin SP Lifespan acoustic guitar strings are treated with Cleartone proprietary technology to bring you the longest possible string life without sacrificing tone or natural feel. Martin SP Lifespan strings are designed to repel the oils and dirt that can deaden strings. All six strings are treated to preserve the natural Martin SP sound and feel that players prefer. Phosphor Bronze strings are bright, but slightly warmer sound than 80/20 bronze when first put on the guitar. They offer consistent tone over time. Phosphor bronze has a copper/tin alloy, making them sound brighter than regular bronze strings. MSP7050 Custom light strings are recommended for folk and lead rock styles. Martin SP Lifespan acoustic guitar strings are used by Martin on the majority of its production guitars. Martin SP Lifespan with Cleartone proprietary technology provides a rich full tone with the added benefit of longer life. The Martin SP Lifespan acoustic guitar strings start with ultra-pure steel SP core wire, which delivers a perfect combination of tensile strength and response. Bronze electroplating is added to protect and enhance the core wire, which is complemented by the wraps that bring the full, rich tone players demand. Finally, Martin’s custom wrapping technique ensures tight tolerances to gauge and tension. Martin SP sets are sent to Everly Music for treatment with Cleartone proprietary technology. This treatment provides the thinnest protection in the industry and does not flake or peel. The treatment protects both the wrap and core wire by repelling dirt and grime that can deaden a string. Wrap windings remain open and uncovered to permit natural vibration patterns. The Cleartone proprietary technology preserves and protects the natural rich full tone of the Martin SP strings.
