The Roland VG-88 presents guitarists with next-generation of revolutionary V-Guitar technology. This futuristic guitar system uses advanced COSMŽ technology to "model" the most popular guitars and amplifiers in music history, as well as produce some very unique "guitar-meets-synth" sounds all its own. The VG-88's extensive list of guitar models encompasses everything from synth sounds to banjos, acoustic and electric 12-strings, hollow-bodies, single- and double-cutaway electrics and more. Version 2 software adds three more guitar models: Wave Synth, Sitar and the incredible-sounding Nylon II model.

The VG-88 doesn't just stop with guitars; it also models a variety of pickups, vintage and modern amplifiers, speaker cabinets and microphone placement. There are now 32 amps total-including new amplifiers like Jazz Combo, Match Lead, Tweed and new R-Fier models like R-Fier Orange and Red. If you can dream it, you can create it on the VG-88 Version 2.

The VG-88's effects section includes everything from reverb and chorus to delay, flanger and parametric EQ-plus distortion, Slicer and polyphonic effects like a string-assignable octaver and a polyphonic Slow Gear. Want more? The new Defretter effect makes your guitar sound like a fretless, while Uni-V creates cool phase-shifted vibrato effects. You also get new a selection of new COSM Wah models.
