Fender Mint Condition

Fender Mint Condition
How much is a 1972 Fender Stratocaster guitar in mint condition worth roughly?

It has a maple neck. Any help would be so helpful! thanks

That era was during the transition between Leo Fender owning the company and CBS acquiring. CBS engineers completely ruined the amp line (by going in and changing the circuits to get rid of all that annoying distortion). That said, the guitars were hit or miss during that time.

The value of the guitar all depends on it’s condition, how “original” it still is, if it’s a hard tail or tremolo bridge, and of course market demand. Vintage guitar prices overall are down about 20% from 2007.

That all said, it’s still going to be worth a few grand. I’d recommend getting and appraisal from George Gruhn of Gruhn Guitars in Nashville. You can do it online (www.gruhn.com)…just follow the directions for what photos and information to send. For $50, he’ll give you an appraisal (sale and insurance value). If you want to add the guitar to your homeowners insurance, it’s a must-have. For a guitar like this, it’s so worth it.
