Martin D28

Martin D28
Does a Martin D28 change color with age?

Does the Martin D28 get a richer deeper color with age? If so, how long does it take to get that color? Can it get that color in the guitar case?

Eventually it will darken. But it will take a long time. I’ve had mine for 10yrs and it shows very little age yet. Martins tend to both look and sound better with age. But I can tell you from my years of experience that you are much better off to keep it in the case. Humidity changes can do a lot of damage to a guitar. I have one that I am trying to fix for a friend right now. If you are in a climate that gets cold in the winter or a very dry climate, use a guitar humidifier. You want to keep it at about 45%. It is much easier to do in the case. It will age either way.
