Fender American Series
How do you put on Fender American Series Stratocaster Guitar Tuners?

Hello, Christian! The American Standard tuners have small alignment (actually, anti-rotational) pins on the headstock side of the housing, which need to be accurately located for proper installation. There are templates available from sources like Stewart-MacDonald (see http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tools/Special_tools_for:_Tuner_installation/Tuner_Pin_Drill_Jig.html ), but they are pricey. With a little care and planning (see
http://www.tdpri.com/forum/tele-tech/145731-fender-tuner-install-questions.html for one approach), you can accomplish the task yourself. Depending upon what tuners you have currently installed, you may also need to enlarge the pegholes (usually 13/32-inch). Once you have the holes drilled, it is just a matter of inserting the tuners into the back of the headstock, placing the washer onto the threaded collar (bushing), and tightening down the collars from the front side. Let me know if I can help further. Best regards, Dana
