shim added under the bridge of my guitar, will it make the action high?
i brought my guitar (alvarez rf20sm) to a luthier. im a beginner, and i honestly cant tell if the action got high because of the added shim, my fingers are still sore from practicing! 
i need a guitar that has a low action. anybody think if the guitars action got high? thanks in advance!
Well if he added a shim under the the bridge saddle of course it’s going to raise the height a little. Was there fret buzz before? you might want to lower the nut action that helped me allot, and yes sore fingers are the norm. Keep practicing, and after a while you’ll be able to keep up with the best of them.. Peace
